She is an extremely powerful character who has gone through some stuff, but her power, in my opinion, falls short of the female in Akagami because of her dependence on the male characters. Yona, unfortunately, does not do this as well as female lead in Akagami (her name escapes me). You don't need to fight a king who killed your father to be strong, you just need to step out of your comfort zone and accomplish things your own way. She does not pick up a bow but rather herbs. In Akagami, on the other hand, is strong in a more subtle way. Every arc ends with her being rescued in one way or another. She is always aided by the other dragons. Yes, she picks up a bow and arrow, and yes, she heals plenty of citizens with her caring ways, but, she has never once reached the end of a goal by herself before. Yona, the main character, is CONSTANTLY being saved from foes by the 5 (#check) other male characters. I am unsure of where the "disagree" button is but I felt as if I needed to add this.Īlthough both female mains have red hair and go through so exile, the delivery of feminine power is sqewed in Yona of the Dawn.
